"Welcome to The Dusty Wood Co. My name is Dustin, and I was born and raised in Stratford, Ontario - where my company is based.

In December of 2020, I officially launched The Dusty Wood Co and by June 2021 had moved out of my garage and into a professional shop, allowing me to take on bigger projects. I enjoy handcrafting various pieces and combining epoxy resin into my creations. Some of the most popular projects include: counter tops, tables, desks, home décor, shelving units, cutting boards, charcuterie boards, and coasters. I am beyond excited to share my upcoming projects and journey with you. Hope you enjoy my work as much as I enjoy bringing it to life!"


Q: What inspired your business?

A: At the beginning of the COVID-19 pandemic, I started making furniture for myself and friends. What started out as a new hobby quickly evolved into a passion for woodworking. There is nothing like creating unique pieces with your own two hands!

Q: What was the biggest challenge you or your business faced that you had to overcome?

A: Transitioning from a full time job in a physiotherapy clinic into setting up a new shop and moving into a full time position with my company.

Q: How did you stay flexible and navigate your business during the pandemic?

A: Lots of social media presence and learning how to display my product better online. So happy that markets and shows are opening back up though!

Q: What has been the most rewarding moment since starting your business?

A: Taking a 100+ year old oak chair that has been in a family for generations and turning it into a plant stand that will now last generations again for the family! I love seeing people’s reactions when I deliver their final product.
